General Meeting Minutes

Thursday   February 9, 2012

 President Jim McLin opened the meeting with a prayer being offered by Robert Kusch and Pledge led by Steve Jones. 

 Roll call of Officers:  All present.

 Secretary Elaine Peck reported no shut-ins this month.  A motion was made by Maria McLin, seconded by David Bedell to accept the minutes from the January meeting.  Motion carried.

 

Treasurer Flo Winstead presented the balance in our account.  A bill for $5.00 was presented for registering our name with the Secretary of State’s Office.  Elaine Peck made a motion to pay the bill, seconded by Freddie Aultman.  Motion carried.

 

Vice-President Mark Jurey reported several upcoming dates for the clubs participation.  Saturday from 11-2 we will meet at Hooters on Siegen Lane to sell raffle tickets for the show.  March 3rd we’ll go to Plaquemine Waterfront Pavilion for the grand opening.  Tanger’s first cruise night is March 17th and we will host that with set-up starting around 4:30 P.M.  Finally we will meet for a display at Chili’s on Millerville on March 24th from 11-3 for a display.

 

 

 

 Parades and Homecomings Chairman Maria McLin announced the upcoming parades of Jupiter/Juno; Artimus; Luling; Lavonia; Laplace; and Omega.

 

Club Sponsor Representative Leon Winstead gave us a quick overview of inventory at Ross Downing.

 

NCM Representative Mack Besnard had no report.

 Webmaster Karen Bedell said her computer is now up and running again.  Also, there are flyers available to promote our show as well as other shows that she received flyers from for anyone wishing to register for said shows.

St. Jude Committee Chairmen Mark Jurey and Mark Bensen shared much information concerning our upcoming show.  Chicken Coop donations are coming along nicely and areas displays are being established around town. 

 

Old Business:

 1)     Dues are now delinquent as of tonight’s meeting.

2)     Middendorf’s w/GNOCC is this weekend 2/12.

3)     Corvette/Chevy Expo, Houston is 2/11 & 12.

4)     BRCC Crawfish Boil is May 5th

5)     BRCC Christmas Party is tentatively set for 12/9.

6)     By-Laws may be reviewed soon.

 New Business:

 1)     Legends (Crescent City) Show is 3/10, Boomtown.

2)     Maria spoke with Homer & we’ll host Tanger 3/17.

 General Discussion:

           It was announced that there was a savings going on at Auto Zone for Mobile One oil.  Hammond Mall will be having a cruise night on 2/11 and several cars will be going out there.  Woodland Baptist Church on 2/26 is having a show in Springfield.

 

Mark Benson won the 50/50 of $100.

 There being no further business, President Jim McLin adjourned the meeting.
