Baton Rouge Corvette Club Impacts St. Jude Childrens

Louisiana Corvette club raises $92,000 for St. Jude Children’s Research

See all those proud folks wearing red, and the little one in pink? That is the joy that comes with giving back to the community that has become a staple of the Corvette family.

And this great-looking group deserves a lot more recognition than what’s typically given to a group of car owners coming together to help others. Why? Well, while banding together to support a good cause is nothing new for a car club, this Baton Rouge Corvette Club recently raised $92,000 in donations for the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, according to The Advocate, a New Orleans-based news source.

Now, that’s something everyone can celebrate, even if you have no personal connection to Corvettes. But what’s even more impressive is that it’s really just the tip of the iceberg for this group. Or rather the tip of the club’s outreach efforts, to be more specific. Since 1988, the Baton Rouge Corvette Club has helped raise more than half a million dollars for the children of St. Jude, which club leaders say makes them the top giver of any car club in the nation that’s donated to the Children’s Research Group.

The members, who recently came together to celebrate their latest donation, credit a lot of their success to corporate sponsorships. The group also holds an annual open car show and 50-50 raffle, with all the proceeds going to St. Jude.

That said, we’d like to take a minute to personally thank all the Baton Rouge club members for representing the spirit of Corvette in a way that really speaks to what the nameplate means to America.
